Close friend, WILL LYNES of LYNES & CO will be having his first SOLO EXHIBITION at KIND OF - GALLERY (Oxford Street, Darlinghurst) opening this Thursday 8th November at 6pm.
Will Lynes, a Sydney-based decorative artist and designer, who specialises in traditional hand-painted signwriting, murals, fine Italian plasters and a variety of decorative painted finishes under the professional face of LYNES & CO.
"Will's work is reminiscent of an era and trade long past. Influenced by old original hand painted signs, Will uses modern slang, gold gilding and ageing techniques to re-create traditional signage of yester year. With references to fictional businesses and colloquialisms inspired from days gone by, Will's work will invoke a sense of history in the gallery.
Lynes will use glass and found objects as his mediums to create an installation to be remembered. Will had been working with glass for the last two years, and been painting signage for the last four years."
A limited edition Special Reserve t-shirt by Will Lynes will also be available on the night.
We have been fortunate enough to have Will complete a series of greeting cards with us, LYNES & CO for AHD PAPER CO (one pictured below) and are hugs fans of his work, so PLEASE COME ALONG TO THE OPENING NIGHT, it won't disappoint.
